We have Dreamforce ’21 right around the corner and even though I feel like Dreamforce to You last year just happened (and it kind of did), here we almost are! Make sure to check out your local Salesforce community groups to see if your favorite group is hosting a preDreamforce event this week or next week. So sit back, open up our calendars and get planning!
Speaking of Dreamforce, you know we are going to have Salesforce events preparing you for it! On Tuesday, September 14th at 11am (PST) Get Ready for Dreamforce 21: Service Cloud Edition will be joined by GetFeedback to make sure you are aware of the latest updates happening with Service Cloud. During this webinar you’ll get a sneak peak of the Service Cloud sessions occurring at Dreamforce, and how to use Salesforce+ to stream Dreamforce from home. Additionally, the guest speaker from GetFeedback will share “what she’s the most excited about for Dreamforce this year.”
For our scholastics out there, How to Design Tech to Promote Equitable Student Experience is also occurring on Tuesday at 11am (PST).Guest speakers from the education sector will be having a panel discussion on the best practices for creating equitable student experiences, and how to close the gap between marginalized and non-marginalized students. Not only will you learn about key principles to promote equality in education, but also how technology helps institutions and students.
Then on Wednesday, September 15th at 9am (PST) Boosting the “R” in ROI: How Driscoll’s Maximizes Marketing Investments will focus on the consumer good industry and measuring the effectiveness of marketing in that industry. For those of you who don’t know the meaning of ROI, it’s the return on investments, and that is something that is hard to measure in the consumer goods industry. In this webinar, you will hear from the well-known berry brand, Driscoll’s, on how they used data to create messages and their direct marketing strategies. Then Salesforce will talk about how to collect, connect, and put the “R” back in ROI.
Next at 12pm (PST) on the same day, we have another, yet shorter event for those in the education field. The Trailhead Live event, Architect Academy: Vaccine Cloud at Penn State is a 30 minute event on how Penn State University implemented Vaccine cloud. This in turn allowed them to reopen their campus because they could utilize contact tracing and manage vaccines. Even if you aren’t in the education sector, large corporations should take advantage of this webinar as well.
Our final event of the week is occurring on Saturday, September 18th and it’s a virtual event in Pakistan! Pakistan Dreamin’ 2021 is the first Salesforce community lead conference in Pakistan and is open to everyone in the Salesforce ecosystem, such as admis, devs, and architects. There are a variety of sessions and the times have been adjusted so that you can see when they are occurring in your local time. Each session will offer $400 towards a certification and a swag gift by completing the quiz at the end of each session. If you can’t “attend”, don’t worry, all of the sessions will be on-demand after the event on Youtube and other video platforms.
Recap
Last Thursday was where it was at! We started off the day with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion for Nonprofits Fundraising Success webinar where guest speakers from Indiana University, Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy, and Pencils of Promise joined Salesforce to discuss how communities of color are “investing their time, talent, and treasure to make meaningful changes.” The goal of this webinar was to help decrease that gap by helping nonprofits understand what motives giving practices in these communities, where they donate to, and tools and techniques donors of color are using in order to give.
Then at 10am we had our golden hour with multiple events occurring! We had the educational Trailhead Live event for Developers, Make the Most of Your DX Projects With the Build in Node.js Scripts, where viewers learned about the key aspects of a Node project. We learned about the different types of matching gift programs out there, the taxonomy of matching gifts, planning and budgeting for gift matching, and technologies that can assist with all of this in Jumpstart Your End-of-Year Giving with Matching Gifts. In the biggest event of the day, Google Cloud Startup Summit hosted a variety of short sessions about starting up a business. There were inspirational stories, best practices to streamline development and create better experiences, and discussions on how to optimize resources.
We ended our day with 5 Tips to Go from Idea to App Fast where Salesforce, joined by LaunchPad Lab and Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, talked about how they created a customer facing app, and how it helped their business grow! Tweet us @mkpartners and let us know what your favorite event was!
Also, make sure to let us know if you think there are any events worth mentioning and what event you are excited about this upcoming week. And, as always, we will see you in the cloud.
